Calvin H. Knowlton

Dr. Calvin H. Knowlton is Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of GalenusCare, leading the company’s mission to transform pharmacy practice through intelligent, personalized medication management. A serial healthcare entrepreneur, he has founded and led 12 companies, raised more than $750 million in capital, and employed over 4,000 team members.

He previously co-founded GalenusRx, a leader in advanced medication safety analytics, and co-founded and served as CEO of Tabula Rasa HealthCare, taking the company public in 2016. Earlier, he founded and led Hospice Pharmacia / excelleRx, the nation’s first pharmacy company dedicated to hospice medication management, growing it to $250 million in revenue and serving more than 800 hospice programs nationwide before its acquisition by a Fortune 500 company.

Dr. Knowlton has served on numerous boards and as President of both the American College of Apothecaries and the American Pharmacists Association. His awards include the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Greater Philadelphia Region X 2), Philadelphia Technology CEO of the Year, and the Remington Honor Medal—pharmacy’s highest recognition in the United States. He earned his BSc in Pharmacy from Temple University, MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary, and PhD in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Maryland, which also awarded him an honorary ScD.
