David Wensel

Dr. David Wensel is the Chief Medical Officer of St. Paul’s Senior Services and TRU Community Care. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer for hospice, palliative care, home health, and PACE at Midland Care in Topeka, Kansas. He helped establish the palliative consultation service at St. Francis Medical Center and one of the first outpatient palliative clinics within a community oncology practice at Cotton O'Neal Cancer Center. Dr. Wensel is a former President of the Hospice Medical Directors Certification Board and past Chair of committees for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). He has also served on the National Pace Association’s Medical Leadership Committee and Board of Directors. Dr. Wensel is currently Clinical Adjunct Faculty at the University of Colorado in the Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
